Acadia New Behavioral Health Hospital

3G Companies partnered with Acadia Healthcare and Methodist Health Systems to deliver the new Methodist Jennie Edmundson Behavioral Health Hospital, a 71,000-square-foot facility designed to expand access to critical mental health services throughout western Iowa and eastern Nebraska.

The state-of-the-art hospital features 96 inpatient beds, including dedicated spaces for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Designed to support healing and recovery, the facility includes 48 patient rooms, four secure outdoor courtyards, a full commercial kitchen, pharmacy, gymnasium, and thoughtfully planned recreation and therapy spaces. A geothermal well field provides sustainable mechanical systems, while extensive site improvements include parking, landscaping, and a covered main entrance.

The hospital was developed to address a growing need for behavioral healthcare services in the region, providing inpatient treatment as well as outpatient programs under one roof. The campus was intentionally designed to create a safe, welcoming environment that promotes privacy, connection, and healing for patients and their families.

A unique component of the project was the installation of 40 prefabricated restroom units. Recognizing the complexities associated with this system, the 3G team took a proactive approach by visiting completed Acadia facilities, touring the manufacturing plant, and collaborating with industry partners to ensure seamless coordination and installation. The result was a highly successful implementation that exceeded expectations and contributed to the overall efficiency of the project.

Completed in less than 18 months, the Methodist Jennie Edmundson Behavioral Health Hospital stands as a significant investment in the health and well-being of the region, expanding access to high-quality behavioral healthcare and strengthening community resources for years to come.
