Burgess Health Center Addition and Remodel
Burgess Health Center selected Graham Construction to add space to accommodate their growing patient volumes. The multi-phased project included a significant 10,000 SF expansion to the Emergency Department and a new 11,000 SF Clinic addition. In addition to the expansions, Graham completed a much-needed remodel of the existing Emergency Department, Surgery Department, Radiology, Human Resources, Billing, Lobby/Registration, and Administration Offices in the existing hospital totaling 17,000 SF. During the project, Graham was awarded the work for the Family Medicine Clinic update at Burgess Health Center. This 5-phase project was a refresh of the existing 10,000 SF that the clinic occupies. There were consistently 5-8 phases ongoing at any time. All of these phases directly next to patient care areas including surgery, endoscopy, MRI, CT, infusions, Trauma, etc. Many of these areas were occupied around the clock and require detailed coordination to reduce the impact on the Hospital’s day-to-day operations. Due to accommodations needed, the project has grown from 13 phases to over 30 phases over the 29-month project. Graham’s relationship with Burgess Health Center has evolved into another lasting client in the state of Iowa.
